Important Alliance Changes

Celebrating Past Success; Looking Towards the Future

Over the last three years, Community Health Funder Alliance community partners and organizations have worked day and night to heal and provide essential care and services. The COVID pandemic significantly intensified needs across our communities, and community organizations stepped up. With skills and with heart, organizations have provided the critical safety net and services needed in communities across northern New Mexico. At the Alliance, we have been honored and grateful to be a part of supporting this important work.

As we enter our fourth year as a funding collaborative, we continue to dedicate ourselves to learning and responding to our community’s needs. In 2023 the Alliance and its partners are adapting to further solutions that heal, care for, and sustain healthy people and communities. There are important changes on the horizon to respond to 2023 CHRISTUS St. Vincent Community Health Needs Assessment and to evolve and strengthen our partnerships.

Beginning in 2023, Community Grants will be managed by the Santa Fe Community Foundation (SFCF). Grantees can apply through SFCF.  Positioning Community Grants within SFCF will allow for additional fundraising opportunities. While Community Grant funds will be managed by Santa Fe Community Foundation, Anchorum and CHRISTUS St. Vincent will continue as active partners with SFCF.

The Alliance will continue to support health impact strategies, guided by the new 2023  Community Health Needs Assessment. This includes a goal to strengthen the system of care through continued health impact funding and community partnerships.

Important note: The Alliance will continue offering Health Impact Grants. These are invitation-only, multi-year grants awarded to programs that significantly contribute to turning the curve on impact goals and are able to scale services to address critical needs or serve as the sole provider of services. The Alliance’s Health Impact Grant process remains unchanged. If you are a Health Impact grantee and have questions about your grant, please contact us at info@communityhealthfunder.org

Additionally, Health Impact grantees can also apply for Community Grants through Santa Fe Community Foundation.

Celebrating Past Success; Looking Towards the Future

Since the Community Health Funder Alliance was founded in 2019, we have awarded over $5.5 million to community organizations working to improve health and wellness in Santa Fe and northern New Mexico. The Alliance was instrumental in supporting organizations and communities through the pandemic. Through grantmaking and partnership, the Alliance helps further solutions that heal, care for, and sustain healthy people and communities. We look forward to continuing this essential and collaborative work in 2023 and beyond.
